It was so wonderful seeing so many of you at Math Night. I
hope that the information on the Common Core State Standards was helpful, and
if you happened to miss the evening, go to the website and you will see a link
to information on the homepage. We are working hard to have all students
prepared for the future! We are certainly looking forward to our science
related assemblies this month by Dr. Shropshire, which are always so engaging
and motivational.
The use of iPads in the classrooms has proven to be highly
motivating to students. Teachers are using them in some classrooms to increase
reading, math and science skills and to produce and create projects. Their use
is directly tied to our needs which have been identified, thus helping us to
improve on a day-to-day basis. We hope you will also join in and support students
from home. MyON is a resource which provides online access to books from school
or home. The teachers have the student logins and passwords and there are many
interesting books available to families as well as books for the pre-school age
group.
We have a couple of our favorite events coming up this
month. McTeacher night is Nov. 13th. It is a fun evening for us to
enjoy the company of students and parents in a relaxed environment. We hope to
see you there. You may also want to attend the Festival of Trees Nov.28th-Dec.1st.
Our very own Mrs. Reece is in charge of Breakfast with Santa this year and the
Fifth Grade teachers are decorating a tree for the school, so make sure you
look for it!
Infinite Campus will help to keep you informed as the
holiday events approach so be sure to check in regularly, and download the
mobile app if you have a smart phone.
